The layout is cleverly designed so that it fits into compact dimensions yet still keeps a generous amount of living space. The Iveco is equipped with a 2.3 diesel engine which will return 30 mpg plus. The cab is well fitted out and on a short circuit the Iveco gives a perfectly good ride. Three front seats have seat belts but the lounge seating doesn’t but that’s not an issue. Bike carriers, luggage box, side awning and solar panel are all superb extras to have fitted as standard trim.
The interior is typically finished to a high standard. The fit and finish is excellent and the first impression is one of space yet the Fiat will allow you to get off the beaten track and do some wild camping. Finished in light wood the motorhome is airy especially with twin Heki roof vents. The L shaped lounge is really a great feature which comes with side window; overhead lockers with LED integrated lights and twin mains sockets. The lounge area also has a removable captains table.
The side kitchen is a surprise in that it actually has more storage and worktop than you may expect. If you’re used to small sinks then Camper Kong make this kitchen a good sized unit with decent drainer too. Also a twin burner hob oven/grill is fitted with a microwave above. Storage is better than some touring caravans. A wardrobe opposite will be large enough for most users and its here also that the fridge is fitted which is a little small perhaps. Walk on to the rear and you have a side fixed bed, more lockers above plus a TV. The bed is impressively large when you consider that Camper Kong has added the corner washroom next to it.
The corner washroom comes with tip-up hand basin, shower and Thetford cassette electric flush loo. Sure it’s not exactly the biggest but its ideal for those on a wild camp weekend. The washroom also has a small side window for added ventilation and also natural light. So the Iveco based motorhome has lots going for it. The fact that its easy to drive compact and frugal on fuel but it also has loads of storage and great living space gives this motorhome from Camper Kong a massive head start on anything else on the market in its class.
Have a check up at what this conversion may cost by any other comparable converter and your looking at around £56k – well the bet is that Camper Kong is cheaper is a no brainer. Because you’re probably looking at nearly £20k cheaper with our luxury compact motorhome. Also we will, at modest cost do any alterations but we reckon you won’t need to have anything changed. With six mains sockets and nine LED lights.
Our thanks goes to Andy Jenkinson for the photos and write up, Georgina and Grace for their help and also Ken & Rita Dyke owners of The Poplars CL site nr-Blackpool-01253- 886746
